What Mushpa y Mensa went for a week of fantastical fun, a side of debauchery and a dash of magic to the “The Big Easy”? Why, yes we did. I am not sure if you all know but this month of October is Mensa’s Birthday Month!!! :] Congratulations Mensa! For the week of her actual Birthday we spent it running around New Orleans having an amazing time. We forget that there is a world outside of New York City where people are nice and say things just to be nice.
Thanks New Orleans for making the celebration, well, New Orleans style. Go big or go home! Check out some of our fantastical action shots HERE.
Happy Birthday Mensa!!!

A grandmother imparting a life lesson to her grandson tells him, ‘I have two wolves fighting in my heart. One wolf is vengeful, fearful, envious, resentful, deceitful. The other wolf is loving, compassionate, generous, truthful, and serene.’ The grandson asks which wolf will win the fight. The grandmother answers, ‘The one I feed’ .
The yummiest, and healthiest dessert you will ever eat….
And you can make it in less than 5 minutes.
-1 package of Silken Tofu
-1 tablespoon of sweetener (We like Stevia/Truvia. Adjust if you want more or less. I started sprinkling and kept adding until I reached about 1tbsp.)
-2 tablespoons of powdered cocoa (adjust as well…I started sprinkling and mixing until chocolatey goodness was reached)
-1 teaspoon of vanilla essence
Mix all ingredients in a food processor or blender….and boom! That’s it.
It was so good, that I realized that I should probably take a picture after I had finished it all!

Mensa was thinking the other day what will it be like in the future. More so what will people think of us in the future? What we have done to the earth is deep. We have created high-level radioactive waste that will survive 100,000 years. We are responsible for our trash and our trash will affect people beyond a time frame we can truly comprehend. This film, Into Eternity, which you may watch in its entirety above, it is not only informative, eye-opening, etc, it is also visually stimulating…so beautiful.
Funny, we just stumbled upon this movie right when we were talking about the environment and future. Universe. :] Here is a preview of the film to reel you in.
Let’s keep our trash to a minimum please.

Sometimes we drool over the furniture on the street. Ok, correction. I drool over the furniture on the street and Mushpa tries to convince me not to bring trash into our home, and be a bit more…what shall we say, selective?
When we have more space, we will be bringing in all sorts of furniture to re-vamp and re-furbish, and potentially sell in our shop as well! This goes back to our idea of making things “from scratch”. On our 100th Blog Post we tried to explain our approach to doing things from now on. If we have the tools to be able to make it, then why not try to do it ourselves? Here is a perfect example.
This is one of the pieces we found a block down from our home. We decided that if it was still there when we came back from our walk, that we would take it in.
We needed storage, and we got some for free! With a few left-over spray paint cans, we painted it and now it looks fantabulous on our studio!
Thank you Mushpa for this one!
