Here’s some 411 on the fest.
FloydFest, which began in 2002, is a world music and arts festival held annually near Floyd, Virginia, in the Blue Ridge Mountains just off the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Taking place on an 80-acre Blue Ridge Mountain venue of unparalleled beauty, FloydFest is camping for a five-day outdoor celebration of roots music, outdoor adventure, and community and is unlike any other music festival you’ll find on the summer roster. With nine unique stages ranging from the hand-hewn timber-framed Dreaming Creek Main Stage and Streamline Stage at Hill Holler to the homey Appalachian-style Workshop Porch to the Backstage VIP Pub, FloydFest is hands down the finest roots music showcase event anywhere, with a non-commercial family-friendly feel, and sincere Southern hospitality.
In addition to music, the festival features local arts and crafts, dance workshops, morning yoga lessons, story telling, poetry readings, and a “Children’s Universe” tent.
It’s music, magic, mountains, and just a touch of mayhem.
