We here at Mushpa + Mensa are excited to be in Wilmington’s 24th Annual Orange Street ArtsFest with so many other talented artisans!

Wilmington’s largest downtown arts festival returns with works of more than 80 artists from North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and Tennessee. Participants will exhibit oil and watercolor paintings, pottery, jewelry, wood, glass, and paper creations. The Orange Street Arts Fest is both relaxing and exhilarating with live entertainment, old-fashioned fair food, and a wine and beer tent. With its laid back attitude and historic Downtown Wilmington setting, the Orange Street ArtsFest has been described as “A Jewel of a Show” so don’t miss out!

27th Annual Herb & Garden Fair

The grounds of Poplar Grove will be filled with a wonderful  selection of locally grown plants of all types – herbs, perennials, annuals, hanging baskets, shrubs, native plants, vegetable starts and houseplants, plus garden art & accessories, herbal & all-natural products, artisan crafts & local foods. There is a $5.00 admission fee; kids 12 & under are free. Included in your admission price is live music by artist and musician, Mark Herbert from Broccoli Brother Circus and Stained Glass Canoe featuring Andrea Templon. There will be Kid’s Activities for the little ones, and free classes & nature trail walks (come see what is in bloom!) for young and young-at-heart throughout the two-day event.

Learn from your neighbors and some of the community’s best local historians, herbalists, and basket-makers! Our State magazine will be on site to distribute their special April issue. 

There will be Greek food samplings, wraps, seafood, hamburgers, hotdogs, smoothies, and baked goods available for purchase.

For the kids, The Stables at Poplar Grove will be open for tours (closed toes shoes required) from 10 am until 2 pm.  The entrance fee is $5.00 a person (young and old) as well as animal Meet & Greets on the back lawn. 

Self-guided house tours will be offered at a discounted rate of $7.00, though you are welcome to sit on our porches and visit our Gift Shop and Slavery Exhibit on the lower level of the Manor House for free. The blacksmith shop will also be fired up, so be sure to follow the billowing smoke & peek inside.

Mountain Jam

Hunter Mountain one of Mushpa’s old stomping grounds on her many journeys in this life. She is excited to see it again. This is Mushpa + Mensa’s first big music festival of the season and we cannot wait. Who wants to come with us on our 2018 festival tour? Then you better hurry up and get your tickets on!!!

The fourteenth annual Mountain Jam Music Festival will take place at Hunter Mountain, in Hunter, NY from Friday, June 15, to Sunday, June 17, 2018.

Mountain Jam is a three-day, multi-stage event, featuring approximately 40 bands on 3 stages in one of the Northeast’s most pristine natural amphitheaters. Rolling Stone Magazine, along with many other noteworthy national publications, consistently rates Mountain Jam as one to the top music festivals in the country. In 2011, Pollstar recognized Mountain Jam with a nomination for Music Festival of the Year.

The Festival offers 3-Day festival tickets with and without camping, VIP, and Super VIP with single day tickets available closer to the festival. On-site camping and condos, and a variety of nearby hotels, lodges and ski chalets offer attendees a wide variety of accommodations.

Nestled in the beautiful Catskill Mountains, Hunter Mountain is a world class ski resort that offers many year-round amenities. The OSAF is one of the largest arts festivals in Downtown Wilmington with more than 80 artists exhibiting oil and watercolor paintings, pottery, jewelry, metal arts and paper creations.

Carolina Strawberry Festival

Wallace Strawberry Festival

In 2011, the Town of Wallace, lead by a core group of leaders, brought the “Strawberry Festival” back to Wallace after 50 years. Each year, the Carolina Strawberry Festival has grown bigger and better. Even better now that we’ll be there! ;] Here is the festival map.

The 2018 Strawberry Festival will be held on Saturday, May 12th from 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM.

We will see you there surround by delicious strawberries. :]
