Poplar Grove is pleased to present Gourmet in the Grove, a late afternoon/early evening artisan & farmers’ market directly in front of the Manor House from 4-7:30 PM every Thursday this summer, featuring area vendors from Jacksonsville to Surf City to downtown Wilmington to Carolina Beach. The Manor House will be open for preview between 5-7 PM at no charge.

If work keeps you behind the desk, or in the truck & on the road, or in scrubs all day, don’t miss this opportunity to browse, shop, wine and dine after work hours – for a little of this and a little of that from just a few of our local vendors:

Wine tastings from Bennett Vineyards Trading Company, formerly Vineyards on the Scuppernong, calming oils from Botanic Synergy and Shea Whips & Butters from The Shea Butter Lady, mouth-watering jalapenos (try their meatballs!) by Cape Fear Pirate Candy, soothing scents from Caren’s Candles, and organic produce from Green Seasons Garden Center.

A big shout out to our favorite neighbor right here in Scotts Hill: Hawleywood Hound & Home. How much more local can you get?

Don’t forget to visit our friends: Muspha y Mensa’s Art Mobile, sample relishes from Our Mom’s Best, meet local artist Linda Callison from Out of Chaos, take away barbecue from Poor Piggy’s Food Truck, or poultry, fish and beef seasonings from Shipwrecked Seasonings based in Hampstead, and, of course – Greek baklava! from Chef Alexis of The Creative Marketplace.

Turner Family Farms has flowers, fresh produce and salad dressings, and Wheelmington of Farmin’ always has an array of tantalizing sandwiches for a quick bite on your way home. And bring the kids – The Wow Factor of Wilmington inflatable will tucker them right out & Snowie of the Carolinas will be on site for them to cool down with a cup of shaved ice.

The main floor of the Manor House will be open for viewing as the sun sets, so don’t sit in traffic. Pull over, feel the sun, and decompress at Poplar Grove. We won’t tell how many samples you accepted before going home!
