22nd Orange Street ArtsFest

We here at Mushpa + Mensa are excited to be in Wilmington’s 22nd Annual Orange Street ArtsFest with so many other talented artisans!

The Orange Street ArtsFest (OSAF) will return Memorial Day weekend for it’s 22nd year. The celebrated street fair is held on Orange Street between Front and Second Streets, next to the Hannah Block Historic USO/Community Arts Center, with some exhibitors inside the building and on 2ndStreet.

The OSAF is one of the largest arts festivals in Downtown Wilmington with more than 80 artists exhibiting oil and watercolor paintings, pottery, jewelry, metal arts and paper creations. This year the OSAF will be juried by Owen Wexler and Miriam Oehrlein. A Dickens Holiday

Down with Black Friday, go back in time before it existed with us and Maya decked out in Dickens style! On Friday, Nov. 25, 2016, Historic Downtown Fayetteville will again be transformed into a unique and wonderful experience. So roll back the clock with us for A Dickens Holiday from 1 to 9 p.m.!

Horse-drawn carriages roll down Hay Street carrying shoppers the old-fashioned way, past merchants’ windows adorned with beautiful Victorian holiday decorations, past artisans and vendors of all sorts of delightful treats. Joyful children pose with Father Christmas for memory-laden pictures. The smells of cider and gingerbread permeate the chilly air. And there is Ebenezer Scrooge himself, pursued by the ghost of Jacob Marley.

As darkness approaches and the clock reaches 5 p.m., townspeople gather in front of the Arts Council for the candlelight procession to the Market House, followed by fireworks. After the fireworks, the festivities continue until 9 p.m.

Wild Goose Festival

We all live by stories, whether we realize it or not…our personal stories of things we’ve done, or that were done to us, corners we turned, chances we took, mistakes we made.

We also live by the stories that permeate our culture, framing stories like big glass windows – we see the world through them, but sometimes barely even know they are there.

At Wild Goose, we’ve always been about making space for courageous, imaginative, and participative social justice work, unleashed creative expression, disruptive spiritual practice, as well as astonishing and inspiring music and art.

WHERE IS THE WILD GOOSE FESTIVAL?
The festival will be held in Hot Springs, NC. Hot Springs, near Asheville, is nestled in the mountains of Western North Carolina and along the banks of the beautiful French Broad River. It serves as an intersection along the historic Appalachian Trail and is part of the Southern Appalachian Mountains.

Located across the road from the Hot Springs Resort & Spa is the Hot Springs Campground, where Wild Goose Festival will be held in 2016. The site features ample sites for tent camping, as well as  full RV hookups. On site comfort stations feature showers and clean bathrooms. Numerous rental cabins/cottages are also available in the town, many within walking distance of the campground.

Come be brave and beautiful with Mushpa + Mensa.
