Autumn With Topsail Festival 2019

Mushpa + Mensa is very excited to be a part Autumn with Topsail this year. Come down and see us and the plethora of other fabulous artisans, music and food! More 411 on the event below.

Started in 1988, The Autumn With Topsail Festival is held on the grounds of the Historical Society of Topsail Island and the Assembly Building which houses the Missiles & More Museum in Topsail Beach, NC.  The festival features a juried Artists’ and Crafts Court with over 100 regional artists displaying and selling their work. Enjoy exciting live musical entertainment, a variety of amazing food with beer and wine, games and rides for children, and much more!

Housed inside this historic Assembly Building is the Missiles and More museum. The Missiles and More Museum came to life when a group of citizens were concerned for the future of the historical Assembly Building. The building was constructed in 1946 and was used by the government to assemble missiles for a secret missile operation being conducted on Topsail Island. So the citizens began to pursue their goal to preserve the building and after several years of research, Feasibility and studies and the meeting with the state and local representatives the building was purchased. Thus it was decided that the Assembly Building would be the perfect place to have the Missiles and More museum. The late Betty Polzer’s dream was to promote the history of Topsail Island. Through hard work and dedication, her dream was finally realized and the Missiles and more Museum opened for all to enjoy in 1995.

Black Mountain Old Depot Art by the Tracks

Art By The Tracks

2019 Art by the Tracks
Saturday, October 26th,
10:00am-5:00pm.
Sutton Ave., Black Mountain, NC

Please join us for the 22nd year of Old Depot’s Art Show in downtown Black Mountain, NC on Sutton. Ave this year on Saturday, October 26th, 2019.

Each year the Old Depot sponsors two juried art shows, one in the spring and one in the fall. Our Spring Art Show is always the first Saturday in June, and our Fall Art Show is the last Saturday in October, in the heart of leaf season. We highlight extraordinary art and craft from throughout the region in this renowned juried art show.

From the 1930’s to the mid 1950’s the town was home for Black Mountain College, which still claims alumni of worldwide renown in the arts. More and more, the town is becoming a center for arts and crafts, antiques and furniture, which attracts tourists from throughout the nation for its unique offerings.

Located in the Blue Ridge Mountains just 15 miles east of Asheville, Black Mountain has long been a rich and varied arts and crafts community.

The Old Depot Association uses the money earned from booth fees for this show towards heritage art grants for schools within the Swannanoa Valley! Each year we contract a local school kid to do the poster art. The 2019 poster art was done by Willow Garrison of Art Space School.
